Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Social Policy Analyst to support research and policy development focused on seniors’ services and systems in Alberta. This role is ideal for a candidate interested in public policy, social justice, and evidence-based decision-making. You will contribute to meaningful research that informs advocacy, program design, and long-term systemic change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on seniors’ services across Alberta, including programs and service gaps
  • Analyze healthcare accessibility and barriers affecting seniors
  • Review and compare policy frameworks and service models across jurisdictions
  • Examine funding structures and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports, and evidence-based recommendations
  • Support stakeholder engagement and summarize consultation findings
  • Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and identifying service gaps
  • Maintain organized research documentation and provide regular progress updates

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or studies in public policy, social sciences, health studies, or related field is an asset
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
  • Interest in seniors’ care, equity, and social systems
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
  • Age: 18-30 years

  • Location: Edmonton, Alberta (with some remote flexibility)
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Hours: 35 hours/week
  • Wage: $15/hour
  • Start Date: May 19, 2026
