COMPANIONSHIP PROGRAM

COMPANIONSHIP PROGRAM

No Elder Left Behind

The Companionship Program: No Elder Left Behind supports seniors who experience social isolation during periods of illness, hospitalization, or life transition. The program addresses barriers to participation and connection by strengthening community-based supports and increasing opportunities for meaningful social engagement.

Through this program, trained volunteers are matched with seniors in healthcare or home settings to provide companionship, facilitate social interaction, and support connection to community resources. By fostering intergenerational relationships, the program enhances well-being, promotes dignity, and helps seniors remain engaged and connected to their communities.

OBJECTIVES

HOW IT WORKS

Volunteers are matched with elders based on language, cultural background, and availability. Trained through a short course, companions offer weekly interactions, wellness check-ins, and referrals if concerns arise.
